You may just want to give it a try. All you need are a few watercolor pencils and a glass of clean water as well as watercolor paper. And as with any art form a bit of patience. Enjoy!

Watercolor Wonder
I've been really enjoying experimenting with the wonder of watercolor pencils. I never thought I'd learn to "paint" but in all actuality watercolor painting is a more than acceptable art form. It's so calming and I've been smart enough not to take on some huge projects, just bite size pieces. I'm even beginning to get into shading and mixing of colors. It's very forgiving.

Collage Dominoes
ArtChix Studios is having their weekly contest from a small mini kit they are sending as a gift with purchase. It's a great little gift. Mine consisted of some clip art and three wooden dominoes. The goal was to use the parts of the gift and create some mini art work in hopes of winning a gift certificate for their store, which I love!
I chose a small mini print for a background paper, three theme images for each set of three dominoes ( I was gifted 2 sets) and for one set I chose a word to add to each collage. I added crystal effects to the main image to get it to stand away from the domino and so the image wouldn't appear flat. It took only a few minutes and was addicting. I think I'll go back and string some beads attaching all three dominoes in each set to add some character. Eventually making them a smaller piece to a larger collage.
What fun, a little early morning art with vivid color combinations and great images. Thanks ArtChix Studios!
